"Hungry for Hope"

is a service which was founded in September 2010 by the senior youth group at St. George's Coptic Orthodox Church. The main goal of the service is to feed individuals living in Vancouver's Downtown East Side - both physically and spiritually. On a bi-weekly basis after mass on Sunday, members of the senior youth group (ages 18 and up) provide sandwiches, snacks, and beverages to the homeless and other low-income individuals living in the Downtown East Side.

Spiritually, volunteers provide information regarding God's love and grace, answer questions about the Christian faith, as well as garner individual prayer requests.

Service Details:

Location: Pigeon Park - at the corner of East Hastings and Carrall Streets in Downtown Vancouver.
Dates: Sundays (bi-weekly)
Time: 2-4pm

If you would like further information about how you can help this cause, whether by participating or through a monetary donation, please contact Father Bisenty, Father Armia or Youssef Bissada.
