At your initial visit to our dental centre, after we have made mutual decisions about your options
for any dental treatment, that there will be an organized treatment plan
according to priority, finances and time. We have an intra-oral camera
to help us decide on our options.
A custom-made crown (or cap) is a metal or porcelain “helmet” that completely
covers a tooth. A crown can repair and strengthen the tooth and often improves the appearance. The crown material chosen depends on function, aesthetics and cost.
A “fixed” bridge consists of two crowns with one or more artificial teeth between
to “bridge” the gap of a missing tooth or teeth. It can improve your appearance
or make chewing easier.
A veneer is a thin “shell” that is custom-made of tooth-coloured material
to cover the front side of a tooth. They can cover nature’s mistake, an
injured tooth or fill in gaps. They can make a great difference in your smile
and are virtually undetectable.
Composite fillings can repair damaged or decayed teeth with a tooth-coloured filling material made of a durable synthetic material (white plastic). Composite fillings
require less removal of tooth structure and bond to the tooth to strengthen it.
Amalgam fillings consist of a stable alloy made from combining mercury,
silver, tin and copper.
Cosmetic makeovers can range from changing the appearance of one tooth
to replacing an entire set of teeth. Comprehensive treatment may require
a combination of veneers, crowns, bridges, gum surgery, teeth whitening
and tooth alignment to create a dramatic smile transformation of not just
the teeth but the whole face.
