Blueberries are not just native to North America, they’re native to British Columbia. So much so that BC is the second largest producer of blueberries in the entire world. These plump, round, dark blue berries are among the superest of the so-called super-fruits. Chock full of nutrients like vitamin C and E, they’re also low in calories.

Eat them fresh, make them into jam or cook them into tempting and tasty cobblers and pies. Not only are they easy to freeze, they also keep their nutritional value even when frozen.

Availability: June to September.
