A variety of salad greens are grown year round in the greenhouse. We pick them once a week in the winter months and twice a week through the summer. They are always delivered within 24 hours of harvest resulting in a tender product that is much higher in nutritional value than similar products that have travelled thousands of miles.
We grow year round, each season having a different challenge and reward. In winter months even though the greenhouse is kept heated by a wood boiler and given supplemental light, the growth slows down dramatically giving us a bit of a break. By February things pick up and the greenhouse is bursting with fresh growth and lots of tomato and veggie starts. Through the summer months growth is so abundant that we diversify the crops to include basil and cucumbers.
Salad greens can be purchased through local retailers sold either prepackaged or by the 100/gm. Restauranteur and caters are also welcome to purchase direct from the farm by the kilogram.
