Our “Energy Gardens”– also known as our anaerobic digesters – produce clean, low-cost energy in the form of biogas that can be converted into electricity, heat and natural gas suitable for use in a variety of applications.

  • Pipeline-grade natural gas – We clean biogas to a methane content of 97% and sell it into existing natural gas pipelines. These pipelines typically transport gas to be used for electricity production at a combined cycle power plant, for building heating, or for industrial use.

  • Compressed natural gas (CNG) – We clean biogas to a methane content of 98% and compress it to 3000 psi to be used as a transportation fuel. This fuel can also be run in a diesel-CNG dual-system tank, reducing demand on diesel engines.

  • Processed Engineered Fuel (PEF) – We create a mix of refined, low-moisture, high-heat value materials like wood chips, bark and shavings that can replace coal in industrial boilers.

University of Washington research found the best plant growth results with 5 inches of pure compost added to the top 8 inches of existing unimproved soil for a total mixture depth of 13 inches, plus another 2 inches of compost as top dressing mulch. Add the additional benefit of core aeration to your turf maintenance program if the soil is overly compacted – if it is difficult to push a screwdriver into your lawn it needs some aeration.
