Selected by Bell Helicopter for the 412EP

The FastFin® System incorporates BLR’s proven Dual Tailboom Strakes with a vertical fin modification that improves airflow to make tail rotor management easier, safer, more efficient, and more productive. FastFin will dramatically expand the lifting capacity of your helicopter, increase peformance and enable greater stability in all flight regimes, including high and hot hover conditions. Additionally, FastFin will reduce both pilot and airframe fatigue.

In 2010, BLR Aerospace certified FastFin for Bell 412 helicopters, and the demonstrated performance increases are taking the industry by storm. Lift up to 1250 pounds more! That’s a 91 percent improvement! The system is so good, that Bell Helicopter has made FastFin standard on new Bell 412EPs. Pilot testimonials, below, speak volumes.

Testimonials:

“Providing our customers with a complete mission solution is one of Bell Helicopter’s top priorities. The FastFin System delivers the kind of performance benefits that allow Bell helicopter operators to more effectively and efficiently complete their missions. We are pleased to partner with BLR to provide our customers with this increased benefit.”

- Larry D. Roberts, Senior Vice President, Commercial Business, Bell Helicopter

“FastFin is…without a doubt…one of the most significant aerodynamic solutions ever developed to enhance yaw control.”

- Dr. Henry Kelly, NASA Aerodynamicist, Retired, NASA

“A greater margin of safety when we need it most. That’s FastFin.”

- Brian Reynolds, Owner, Northwest Helicopters

“The use of pedal is greatly reduced – you’ll see a dramatic increase in tail rotor authority.”

- John Boucher, Owner, Overseas Aircraft Support

“FastFin is phenomenal. It’s saved us a ton of money because we were looking at having to go to a 212 tail rotor system. We find that with FastFin, we’ve accomplished the same thing, for a whole lot less.”

- John Adolphson, Chief Pilot, Washington State Department of Natural Resources

“The key difference is, when you’re working at high-density altitudes with a load on, it seems less affected by the wind shifts that you typically encounter in mountainous terrain.”

- Richard Woodbury, Pilot, Washington State Department of Natural Resources

Winglet Systems - BLR Aerospace

Climbing between FL 280 and 320 I’m seeing 900 feet per minute – about 400-500 feet per minute in additional climb. The new Winglets look terrific and add an exciting appeal to the aircraft. At FL290 we are seeing 5 knots of additional cruise. I am way above book at 288 knots true.

Ultimate Performance Package - BLR Aerospace

A series of product enhancements from industry-leading companies come together to deliver big benefits in the new King Air B200GT. The addition of BLR Aerospace Winglets increases lift and reduces drag and stall speed. Yet, because of their composite construction, the Winglets add very little weight. All performance information is included in the new BLR Flight Manual Supplement.
