Besides the conversions of the cabin cruiser and runabout that are currently underway, I have won a varied list of conversion contracts that we will complete over the next three months.

It’s been a while since the conversion was completed but at last I finally found the time to upload the video describing the process.

We are taking a 34′, 7 ton full displacement pleasure cruiser that started out as a west coast gill net boat and are right in the middle of converting it to run on a series electric drive system.

This barge is a 10′x20′ wood platform straddling a pair of marine plywood-fibreglass-epoxy composite pontoons, with aluminum hand railings in the corners.  At the stern is an aluminum quick release latch system to connect the barge to a dedicated pusher motor vessel when in operation. The main feature of the barge is a 5′x5′x8′ underwater aluminum cage [..]

This project was precipitated by my buying a vintage wooden runabout a few years ago, right when I first started to get interested in electric vehicles.

The first step was to convert a typical lawn tractor to a multi-purpose landscaping machine that was robust enough to replace two men lifting or shovelling while still being compact enough to work in very tight spaces. This video shows how well the tractor takes care of even wet heavy snow using an articulating plow mounted on the front quick release mount.

Electric Tractor - Smoothwake.ca

The first project to accomplish while testing the machine was to move and spread top soil throughout our property, and then to transport sod rolls from the pallet to where they were needed. The plow attachment could do only so much, and this video shows how with the bucket I cleared our front sidewalk all the way down our block throughout that snowfall. You will see in the video the tractor is missing a few components that were added later.
