Massage Therapy, back pain, Massage Therapist
During pregnancy, massage therapy can be used to treat a number of pregnancy-related symptoms or conditions including back and muscle pain, headaches, edema (swelling of feet, ankles and wrists), carpal tunnel syndrome and constipation, and of course fatigue and stress. Massage therapy is equally effective in treating many of the above conditions during the weeks and months after childbirth when the body is recovering and transitioning back to its regular self.
Various forms of manual therapy, hydrotherapy, remedial exercise, self massage and postural guidance may be utilized. Massage therapy is an excellent drug-free method of care and it is important to seek the help of a properly trained professional RMT during this precious time.
