By now most of you have already finished the story mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or at least are still underway in the mode in between bouts of multiplayer based action.  Say what you will about how the Modern Warfare series has evolved over the last few years, but one thing that has remained constant, in a good way, is that the acting and performances in the game have remained high quality.

The addition of the Tanooki suit, and Tanooki tails to characters throughout the game, give the game a ridiculous amount of adorable. The 3D features of the 3DS are utilized intelligently and don't feel shoe-horned in. Quite possibly the best example of a reason to own a 3DS this holiday season. Classic Mario platforming action refined and polished to near perfection.

I've been a huge fan of the series since Daggerfall (and am thus well acquainted with the series' history of bugs) but not even I was prepared for the social phenomenon that Skyrim would bring. I informed my boss of the impending week off of work a full year in advance, and I promised myself not to get pulled in by other releases that month. Since Skyrim was announced, oh so long ago, I was more than eagerly anticipating its arrival.

As much as it pains me to say, we haven’t exactly gotten a good amount of new IPs, or at least those that turn out to either be good or somewhat warranted. Capcom may have made some bad moves this generation concerning their properties (I don’t think the DmC fiasco will ever die dow.

It was a pretty even split down the middle between people who loved the motion controls and hated them, as well as people who loved the casual, accessible games and hardcore gamers who couldn't be bothered. With the Wii U (I still hate that name) due out next year and the Wii losing much momentum over the past two years, it's time to wave good-bye to the system that ushered in the age of motion controls.
