Infrared Thermal Imaging is a frequency which lies just past red on the light
frequency scale. This energy frequency is not seen by the human eye. The infrared thermal
imaging camera senses differences in temperature that are not seen without infrared.
The Flir B300 has a moisture / mould alarm and also an alarm for missing insulation. This is
because there are big temperature changes during these conditions.
Moisture is the only condition the camera may find as it senses conditions with electrical,
heating and cooling, plumbing, and even missing structure just to name a few. This is all
detected through differences in temperature.
Infrared Thermal Imaging is new to home inspectons and one should not have an
inspection done without a good quality infrared camera.
Warning Warning Warning Warning
some cameras are not as good as others and some cameras should not be used for home inspections. There are not enough detectors in these cameras and one should be aware that they are limited in function.
