Dr. Gartshore and Dr. Clarke use a variety of naturopathic modalities in treating and preventing illness, including:
- Dietary and lifestyle counselling
- Botanical medicine (the use of herbs in the form of tinctures, teas, and capsules)
- Homeopathy (extremely dilute natural substances used to stimulate the body’s healing capacities)
- Naturopathic manipulation (manipulation of the spine and peripheral joints)
- Cellular drainage and detoxification (the use of combination homeopathic remedies to clear toxins from the extracellular matrix)
- Nutritional supplementation–including intramuscular vitamin injections and intravenous vitamin & mineral therapy
- Acupuncture (insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate Qi and release energetic blockages in the meridians)
In addition to the above, Dr. Gartshore is trained in Reiki and neural therapy.
Reiki is a method of laying-on-of-hands energy healing that originated in Japan, and is very effective for inducing a parasympathetic state in the body, which allows the body to heal itself rather than focussing its strength on reacting to stress. Reiki healing affects physical health conditions as well as helps people to gently release emotional blocks and experience a deep sense of peace.
Neural therapy involves injections of 1% procaine (a local anaesthetic) into scars, myofascial trigger points, intradermal, subcutaneous or deeper areas of the body to restore proper autonomic nervous system functioning to areas that have been disturbed by “interference fields” caused by things such as surgery, trauma, vaccinations, infections, and piercings. Such treatment often results in relief of chronic pain and/ or illness that was related to the interference field.

A wide variety of lab tests are available through our clinic. For some, the samples are collected at the clinic or at home and sent out to a lab for processing. For others, the samples are collected at a LifeLabs in Gibsons or Sechelt. Please note that lab tests ordered through a naturopathic physician are not currently covered under MSP.
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, debit, VISA and MasterCard. Fees for lab services are due at the time of specimen collection or, if the sample is collected at home, at the time the patient is given the test kit. For tests done through LifeLabs, payment is collected at our clinic when the requisition is given.
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment. Any missed or cancelled appointments with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a $25 cancellation fee which must be paid before your next visit.
Our dispensary carries a wide selection of high quality vitamins & minerals, nutritional supplements, homeopathic remedies, botanical medicines, and more.
