We have completed engineering studies for water supply and distribution, water treatment, sanitary sewer collection and treatment, drainage, storm water disposal, traffic analysis and transportation projects for most municipalities in northern British Columbia. In addition to these engineering studies, our major engineering work consists of the design of all servicing works associated with the development of residential and industrial subdivisions. During the past several years, we have developed more than 3,000 single family residential lots, numerous multiple-family developments, a number of bare land strata developments and several major industrial subdivisions with a total construction value in excess of $40 million.
L&M Engineering includes a transportation division, which includes professional engineers that are experienced in the planning, design and construction of highways, airports and major roads. Initially, in support of rezoning and subdivision applications, we can provide Traffic Impact Studies. From these studies, we can then prepare conceptual, functional and detailed engineering drawings for the construction of roads and highways. L&M Engineering provides extensive services to the development community by assisting with the management of all aspects of development and institutional projects. These services include the coordination of multidisciplinary teams of professionals. In particular, we act as local project coordinators for “out-of-town” architectural firms that require local engineering services. L&M Engineering project management services includes, project planning, coordination of the project team, liaison with approval, agencies, coordination of sub-consultants (geotechnical, architectural, electrical, environmental ), coordination of design services, project approvals from regulatory authorities, tendering, preparation of contract documents, project scheduling, contract administration, engineering and construction reviews and project completion services, including the preparation of “as built” drawings and the production of operational procedures and maintenance programs.
Site Survey & Mapping Services
L&M Engineering can provide full topographic and site survey services for all of our development and construction projects. Our surveyors operate both in urban areas and remote locations using conventional survey applications and GPS.
Our planning and design technologists are experienced in the development of all aspects of civil engineering design and planning mapping. Civil design work includes the preparation of as-builts and construction drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Our planning technologists can prepare land use mapping, conceptual plans, subdivision layouts, presentation drawings and 3D renderings using AutoCAD and Sketch Up.
Onsite Sewage Treatment
L&M offers wastewater treatment solutions and design expertise to the private and public sector. Our team of engineers and technicians provide research, feasibility studies, design, construction services and commissioning of wastewater treatment systems.
We offer specialist engineering services with respect to the design, construction and maintenance of onsite sewage treatments systems for individual lots and for rural subdivisions. Our Company includes “Authorized Professionals and Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioners (ROWP)” that can provide practical and efficient designs for all lot sizes, and for all types of soils conditions. L&M can supervise homeowners in the installation and maintenance of their onsite sewage systems.
Storm Water Management
L&M’s team of engineers and designers can deliver a variety of comprehensive solutions for all aspects of storm water management situations, including planning, design and construction management. L&M utilizes our extensive northern experience combined with our local knowledge to provide innovative and practical solutions for our clients. L&M offers a variety of services including, drainage studies, integrated storm water management planning, water quality enhancement, design of in-ground infiltration systems, and storm water infrastructure design
L&M Engineering has a wealth of experience in subdivision development ranging from individual property owners to large-scale industrial and residential development projects in both rural and urban settings. We assist our clients in assessing the subdivision opportunities for their property and will manage the subdivision process from liaison with the approving authorities, rezoning (if required), subdivision layout design and submission of the subdivision application to onsite testing, completion of approval requirements and detailed civil engineering design works.
