Life, Above All is an affecting and poignant coming of age story about a remarkable girl who was forced to grow up much too soon.

On Fire 103 is The Arts Station 3rd Annual year-end art show and sale. Each and every item is for sale and everything is priced under $103!
On Fire 103 is so named in order to commemorate the Great Fire of 1908 where the majority of Fernie was leveled by fire. Submission criteria is that all works must be priced under $103, must be medium sized or smaller, and gallery conditions apply. As well, a current membership to The Arts Station must be obtained by all artists submitting pieces to the sale but the membership can be purchased at the time of application drop-off. Any and all forms of creating are welcome—from painting to pottery and from jewellery to knitting. If you can create it than we can display it!
Artists can submit as many pieces as they wish because as one piece sells the space is filled with a brand new work. For more information on the sale, how to get an application or gallery conditions please do not hesitate to contact The Arts Station.
“This show offers an opportunity for people to purchase local, high quality artwork as gifts this holiday season or just because they are amazing works for themselves at a very reasonable price,” says Courtney Baker, Arts Station Administrator. “As well, it is a great way for local artists to gain continued exposure in the East Kootenays. On Fire reminds people of the diverse and thriving arts culture Fernie has to offer.”

The Guard (Ireland), a crowd favourite at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, is a lively and often hilarious Irish crime comedy.  Brendan Gleeson stars as an unconventional small-town cop on the West Coast of Ireland who is forced to team up with an FBI Agent (Don Cheadle) when a local murder appears to have connections to a gang of international drug traffickers.  A heady blend of absurdity, dark humour, and emotion, The Guard will leave you smiling.

Brunch is ready! It’s a natural marriage between wood and clay.  Kerri Holmes Pottery and Bisaro Woodworking bring their latest work to the table.  À Table! features a family table with benches set for a mid-morning meal.  You will immediately enter into their vision of the “ideal kitchen”- think a brunch setting.  Their playful, try-it-and-see approach shines through in the studio. Their “ideal kitchen” is open, inviting and full of quirky, familiar personalities with a place for everyone. Kerri Holmes’ hand crafted pottery is rustic, yet clean. The warm, earthy tones used to accentuate her work give her pieces an even greater feeling of home.  Alain’s wall cabinets and other kitchen classics (of Bisaro) will display the divine clay creatations by Holmes and guest artist, Sarah Pike, in the exhibit and are built to last.  His unique furnishings have a modern edge and hints to the craftsman style which truly add to the sense of home.
