My first book grew from the notes I wrote to my own parents when they first got a computer. Dad was fighting lung cancer at the time, and they needed the learning to be quick and simple. I'm not a computer expert, but I'm pretty good at figuring things out and then explaining things simply.
When I wrote My Parents First..., I had no idea how many people struggled with computer basics. I thought there were only a few people who stuggled with computer basics. I was wrong.
Not only are there still newbies, but there are so many people in high-tech industries who use complicated, non-Windows computer systems all day, who also stuggle with basic home computers. I've discovered there are so many people who only use email but nothing else! They know their computers can do so much more than they are using them for - and want to be able to use more of this fabulous tool.
I truly feel blessed that I have been able to write these quick and easy guides. I would like to thank the many people who have taken the time to write and to let me know how the books have help them. Your kind words and accomplishments mean so much. You continue to inspire me.
Since its first release in 2004, over 30,000 copies of My Parents First... have been sold.
Since it's first release in 2007, nearly 10,000 copies of My Parents Second... have been sold.
My Parents Went Mac, as a new release is going fast out the gate. I think it will rival My Parents First!
Sales help me contribute to the fight against cancer and patient care. To date you have helped me raise over $20,000. Thank you so much! Author/Publisher, Louise Latremouille
