As a growing body of research documents its efficacy, Therapeutic Massage is increasingly being prescribed by physicians to complement traditional medical treatment for illness, injury and pain. Therapeutic Massage involves manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body. It soothes, calms, and aids in stress reduction; and it can improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness.
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE Initial 60 minute session includes a consultation, assessment, and massage to determine treatment goals and plan. We will evaluate your progress each session, adjusting therapy and goals as needed. Education, home care, and remedial exercise are also important components of your therapy.
RELAXATION MASSAGE A smooth, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, improves circulation and range of movement, and relieves muscular tension.
PREGNANCY MASSAGE Massage therapy is a natural way for a pregnant woman to reduce stress, manage pain and discomfort, and achieve an overall sense of well being while honouring her body's needs. The specially designed Bodycushion allows complete comfort and safety while
lying on side or belly.
SPORTS MASSAGE Combining different techniques to enhance sports performance, massage is an effective component of any training program. Also an important recovery tool, massage can be used to address specific sports injuries, orthopedics and rehabilitation.
MUSCLE BALANCE and FUNCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT® A progression of sequential exercises oriented to each patient’s individual needs, targeting intrinsic postural muscle groups and retraining the neuromuscular system. MBFD improves posture, alignment and function.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe, gentle and effective approach to eliminating pain, restrictions, and to restoring function. This hands-on technique addresses fascia, a tough connective tissue that runs as a three-dimensional web through your entire body without interruption. This is not a system of separate coverings, but actually one uninterrupted structure that exists from your head to your feet. In this way you can begin to understand how each part of your body is connected to every other part by fascia. Inflammation or trauma such as a fall, surgery, injury or habitual poor posture can create a binding down of fascia, resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, blood vessels, muscles, bones and/or organs. MFR treatments focus on determining and releasing the cause of imbalance in the body, thus reducing the symptoms felt and optimizing health and vitality.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is the deepest form of Myofascial Release treatment. The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the cranium (bones of the skull, face and mouth) down to the sacrum (tailbone). The light, hands-on approach assists the natural hydraulic forces of the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of your brain and spinal cord, dissipate the negative effects of stress and enhance your general health and resistance to disease. CST facilitates the health of your central nervous system, your “master computer”, and thus positively benefits your entire body, including your musculo-skeletal, fascial, digestive, cardiovascular, lymphatic, reproductive and respiratory systems. CST is especially beneficial for people who have experienced head trauma, birthing trauma, chronic headaches or migraines, hormonal imbalances, menstrual problems, depression or stress, and can be safely used to treat a wide variety of symptoms in patients of all ages.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY for NEWBORNS and BABIES The process of being born can be stressful for babies. If your newborn is colicky, difficult to soothe or having trouble feeding, they may be responding to physical discomfort that can be safely treated using Craniosacral Therapy. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on technique that enhances the health of well babies and helps minimize the stressful effects of labour and birth on newborns. Infants who have experienced prolonged or precipitous births, or were delivered by forceps, vacuum or Caesarean, will especially benefit from CST sessions. Receiving CST early in life frees restrictions before they have a chance to cause more serious pain or dysfunction in the future. Children's bodies have spent less time in restricted patterns, allowing them to respond quickly and easily to treatment. Often one or two sessions are enough to address any underlying conditions and to resolve symptoms. Newborns can be treated fully clothed and lying on a parent's or therapist's lap, in a car seat, or while nursing or sleeping.VISCERAL MANIPULATION A gentle and deeply relaxing therapy that releases tension on the organs of the body, allowing them to move and glide freely, and optimizing their function. Excellent for digestive, urinary and menstrual issues, infertility, musculo-skeletal pain, and post surgery.HOT STONE THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE Enjoy the benefits of this deep soothing treatment for those stubborn muscles. The heat of the stones helps muscles release more quickly and promotes relaxation.

DID YOU KNOW?
– Infrared saunas offer the same health benefits of traditional saunas, yet are more comfortable as they operate at a lower heat temperature (between 106°F and 130°F), and are ventilated for a continuous flow of fresh air.
– The radiant heat reaches deep, as much as 1.5 inches below the skin, producing 2-3 times more sweat.
– The lower heat level means an infrared sauna uses only about half the energy of a traditional sauna.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have any existing health conditions or are taking prescription medications, we recommend that you consult your physician before using the sauna. Pregnant clients should not use the sauna.
