Fizzy Vodka? Soon to be released, a full strength vodka made from 100% BC fruits with a fizz. Most vodkas are made from grain or potato because it is the cheapest way to make alcohol. They have to be charcoal filtered to soften the harsh taste, so merridale has decided why not make vodka entirely from fruit, so that it is soft and smooth without a charcoal filter. And so we did!
This is not fruit infused vodka, but vodka made from fruit. It is a secret blend of spirits made from cherries, plums, apples, and some pear. To make it a little more fun and distinctive, we decided to carbonate it. After 3 or 4 failures, we discovered a method of carbonating the vodka in 150 gallon batches over many weeks at temperatures close to freezing. The resulting bubble is small and refined, or as the Italians would say “Frizzante”.
