Darts is a fun, social game that has been around since Medieval England. Around 1900 the rules and darts settled into what we know today. The size of the board, throwing distance and even the size of the darts became standard.
The enduring popularity of darts may be due to the fact that it is a sport that combines talent, skill and even a bit of luck.
The setup for the dartboard is fairly simple but for the sake of uniformity this should be done as precisely as possible. We have books (and people) that will be glad to explain how to set up your dart board properly.
Billiards (AKA Pool)
8 ball, 9 ball, carom, pocket, crossover, cake, cowboy, one pocket, Kelly, 7 ball, whatever your game you're bound to have a great time playing pool! If some of these names don't sound familiar come in and ask us, we have a good selection of books about billiards as well as billiard cues and other supplies.
The history of billiards is long and very rich. Billiards has been played by kings and commoners, ladies, gentlemen and hustlers alike. It evolved from a lawn game similar to the croquet played sometime during the 15th century in Northern Europe, probably in France. Billiards was originally played with two balls on a six-pocket table with a hoop similar to a croquet wicket and an upright stick used as a target. Billiards has come a long way from these humble beginnings to the slick and streamlined game of pool we play today with felt topped tables and custom pool cues in handsome cases!
