After 65 Years in business, Houle Electric knows a thing or two about customer service. Since opening their doors in 1944, service excellence has been the foundation of their business. Today, with more than 350 employees, Houle serves the entire province of British Columbia, with branch offices in Burnaby, Victoria, Nanaimo, Prince George and Kelowna.
Houle Electric has been named Consumerâs Choice for Electrical Services since 2002.
The companyâs white vans with the black and red plug on the side are a familiar site all over the province. While Houle is a recognized leader in residential and commercial service calls, they are also widely recognized for their experience in large-scale construction projects such as hospitals.
âHoule has played an important role in the development of several big projects in B.C.,â says Robert Lashin, President, who joined the firm 35 years ago as a junior engineer. âHowever, unlike any other electrical services provider in Western Canada, we are able to extend that same quality of service to our residential and small business customers. No matter how big or small the electrical job is, we anticipate our customerâs needs and then delivering more than what is expected.â
Not only do residential and small business owners benefit from Houleâs award-winning industrial experience, they can also rest assured that they are dealing with a company that is passionate about safety.
âService is all about people. Thatâs why we emphasize a strong employee training regimen, beginning with our investment in apprentices and providing advanced training opportunities,â says Lashin. âThis is especially true with safety, because the most important thing to me is my employees and my customers are home safe with their families at the end of every day.â
Houle walks the talk with their commitment to safety. For the 10th year in a row, Houle has been named Safety Award Winner in the Large Contractor Category* by the VRCA. Based on province-wide safety statistics for the company, no other contractor in their category has been able to beat Houleâs safety record for a decade now.
âWe are especially proud of our safety program because we have successfully adapted it to several different types of work over many different sectors,â explains Robert. âFrom security experts installing cutting edge technology in a new hospital on Vancouver Island, to our controls group wiring up DDC systems for a mine in the north, thereâs a lot of ground to cover.â
In addition to their 24hr Emergency Service, Houle operates 5 other specialized divisions: Design-Build Construction, Security Systems, Data Networks, DDC Building Controls and Electrical Preventative Maintenance. Province wide, Houle has over 100 vehicles on the road.
âHoule Electric has a great service tradition,â says Mark Worden, General Manager for Service and Preventative Maintenance. âOur growth and reputation is based on our responsiveness, professionalism and above all, quality. Each and every one of our customers can be confident that their job â whatever the size â will be completed to their satisfaction.”
