Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy services seek to improve client functioning through the application of skilled interaction, therapeutic activity, adaptive equipment, education, activity analysis & activity modification. Where skill deficits persist, compensatory strategy training is used to maximize abilities in physical, cognitive and psycho-social domains of function.

Where injury or disease impairs mobility, joint & muscle functioning, flexibility or endurance, physiotherapy can help. For many clients, travel to a physiotherapy clinic is infeasible and the often short appointments offered are inadequate. Community physiotherapy addresses this need by providing comprehensive services at home or in community fitness facilities.  Physiotherapists work within our , , Vocational Rehabilitation (), and programs.

Speech-Language Therapy

Speech-language therapists provide treatment to assist with speech and/or language disorders. A speech disorder refers to a problem with producing sounds, whereas a language disorder refers to a difficulty understanding or communicating ideas. SLPs help clients gain the skills necessary to convey their wants and needs dependably and accurately.

Psychology & Counseling Services

Currently, these services are provided to our adult clients funded by the Fraser Health Acquired Brain Injury program. Psychologists & registered clinical counselors provide assessment and treatment services which help clients adjust to disability. Issues such as impulsivity and anger, depression, anxiety, as well as support and education for the client's family and caregivers are addressed in treatment.

Rehabilitation Assistants

Rehabilitation Assistants  are skilled one-to-one workers. Staff credentials include B.Sc. Kinesiology, B.A. Human Kinetics, B.A. Psychology and Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma completion. These team members work under the direction of a Therapist and their involvement in client treatment enables the delivery of results orientated yet cost effective programming.
