The House of James Bookstore and Coffeehouse has been serving Canadians for almost 30 years.  We ship across North America, and would love to serve you.  We carry books, music, bibles, children's products, giftware, DVDs, computer software, ministry resources and much more.


We accept Visa, Mastercard and House of James Gift Cards. We also honor House of James Frequent Buyer Dollars.

Please Note:

  • If using a gift card, the full number must be entered in the “notes” section of the check out cart.
  • If using a $7.50 coupon, it must be mentioned in the “notes” section of check out cart by quoting the date and reference number at the top of the receipt.

Within Canada   

All packages are shipped via Canada Post "Expedited Mail" and are trackable.

$0-$50 = $5 Shipping and Handling (plus GST)
$50-$100 = $7 Shipping and Handling (plus GST)
$100 or more = 7% of order total (before applicable taxes) plus GST

Estimated Shipping Times:

Within B.C. = 1-3 Business Days
West of Ontario = 3-7 Business Days
Ontario and East = 5-13 Business Days

To the USA  

All packages are shipped via Canada Post "Expedited USA", and are trackable.

$0-$50 = $13 Shipping and Handling
$50-$100 = $15 Shipping and Handling
$100 or more = 15% of order total

International Orders

Shipping costs on orders from outside of Canada and the USA will be quoted after your order is placed. We will contact you to determine an acceptable method and cost of shipping, and to receive additional personal information that may be required to complete the sale.

Shipping Preferences

Online orders are filled from available store stock. Some items in your shopping cart may be available before others if one or more items are out of stock when we fill your order. If you need to receive certain items in your order quickly, you can choose one of our two shipping preferences during checkout:

  • Wait until all items are in stock and ship together
  • Ship Separately (separate shipping charges will apply)

Beginning with the items in stock, we will ship items as they become available if you choose the ship separately option. A per-shipment charge will be applied and you will receive parts of your order sooner. You are welcome to make us aware of your time constraints in the notes section during checkout and we will do our best to be sensitive to your needs.

Exceptions to Shipping Charges

Due to the nature of some product, we reserve the right to adjust shipping charges once the order is we received. We will always contact you before finalizing your order to receive confirmation. Some exceptions include:

  • Playmobil Orders - customers will be contacted by phone with an adjusted shipping cost
  • Small Items (such as concert tickets and gift cards) – if customer does not wish to pay for a tracking number ($5.00) they will be charged the price of a stamp
