There are several factors that distinguish Autism Behaviour Consulting from other agencies. First, for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder up to age 6 who have recently been diagnosed, we provide a thorough assessment of your child and family situation, and for children 6 years and older, conduct a formal behavioural assessment.

Second, at the conclusion of the assessment, we prepare a detailed plan for you and your family. The plan includes the services we will provide as well as recommendations for you and your family to support your child and each other.

Third, Autism Behaviour Consulting delivers! We have a full team of Behaviour Consultants, Senior Behaviour Interventionists, sub-contracted Behaviour Interventionists, Speech Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists to work directly with your child, in your home.

Specifically, for children up to age 6, Autism Behaviour Consulting:

1.    Our qualified Behaviour Consultant may:

  • spend up to 40 hours observing and engaging your child at home, (pre)school, and in  the community;
  • consult with you about goals for your child and your family;
  • prepare a detailed and customized written assessment (BPI- Behaviour Plan of Intervention);
  • consult with Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to determine benefits of their services for your child;
  • introduce you to a number of qualified sub-contracted Behaviour Interventionists so you can choose the one who you feel is best suited to your child and family; and,
  • maintain close contact with you and provide you with regular progress reports.

2.   You may be referred to local Speech Language Pathologists and/or Occupational Therapists to work with your child if approved by you.

3.    Provides qualified Senior Behaviour Interventionists and sub-contracted Behaviour Interventionists to:

  • work directly with your child
  • teach you and your family practical ways to use the BPI- Behaviour Plan of Intervention in everyday life to support your child and each other

4.    Provides workshops on Autism Spectrum Disorder for siblings, friends, preschools and classrooms.

5.    Provides access to our library with over 200 books, DVD's and games that you or your child's teachers can borrow free of charge.

For children over age 6, Autism Behaviour Consulting:

1.    Our qualified Behaviour Consultant to:

  • conduct an assessment of your child's behaviour;
  • consult with you about goals for your child and your family; and,
  • prepare a customized BPI- Behaviour Plan of Intervention.

2.    Provides qualified Senior Behaviour Interventionists and sub-contracted Behaviour Interventionists to:

  • work directly with your child
  • teach you and your family practical ways to use the BPI- Behaviour Plan of Intervention in everyday life to support your child and each other

3.    Provides small groups for children and teens allow community access, and understanding about Autism Spectrum Disorder.

4.    Provides opportunities for your child to attend supervised summer group programs offering recreation and social learning opportunities.

5.    Provides a monthly invoice detailing services provided and fees payable.
