TheHungryOven.com

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

Debby at Hungry Oven needed a magazine style website that covered a great deal of content. She also wanted her staff to be able to have control over the content. We worked closely with her team to develop a WordPress theme that met all of these needs. There were a great deal of customizations done to meet all of the requirements.

I’m looking forward to enrolling my daughter into a class so she can prepare an evening meal once in a while.

TacticalActionsGroup.com

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Tactical Actions Group (TAG) came to BashBang looking to update their website. They were happy with the overall design of the site but needed work done to make it more functional.

They needed the ability to make copy and minor images updates to their website without working through a developer. This required a CMS. They also needed their site to be search engine compatible and to work on a iPhone/iPad. Their site was created in Flash many years ago and didn’t do the SEO very well nor did it work in the iOS devices.

BashBang build a WordPress skin based on their current design. We made design and usability improvements where necessary. We also built them a nice submission form for recruiting purposes and class signup purposes.

All of these changes resulted in a far higher ranking on the targeted keywords in google providing the site with better traffic as well as higher volumes of recruit submissions.

Access-Strategy.ca

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

BashBang built Access-Strategy a quick and dirty WordPress site with an off the shelf style. We did a few edits to the design template and incorporated a couple standard plugins. This is one of the fastest websites we’ve every produced. So quick in fact we didn’t even charge for it, although Nicole still owes me a dinner for our efforts.

o2learn.co.uk

Monday, November 1st, 2010

O2 asked BashBang to develop a video sharing site to allow educators to share teaching videos on various topics.  O2 produced the design and BashBang took care of the technical design and programming aspects.  We took phpMotion as a starting point, and rewrote about 90% of the software’s front end and about 50% of the backend. We also added our moderation tools to phpMotion to allow O2 staff to preview content before it was released to the site users.

BashBang also took care of the server setup and config and post launch was responsible for server monitoring and maintenance.

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

BashBang Productions took over development of the virtual world project ZulaWorld.com. We worked closely with the staff at Zula to redesign many of the rooms within ZulaWorld and redesign the user interface. We also rewrote much of the backend code to provide easier maintenance, reliability, and substantially optimized the assets.

BashBang also redesigned the systems architecture to remove all single points of failure while simultaneously reducing the hosting costs by 300%.

This project involved a Flex frontend, RubyOnRails scripting for the server side logic, MySQL database and SmartFox Server for the multiplayer functionality.

SDentertainment.com

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

SD Entertainment was looking for a more modern looking corporate website to exhibit the work they’ve done on several well known animation projects (such as Angelina Ballerina, Bob the Builder, Care Bears, Winnie the Pooh, Bratz Babyz, Finster and Mulan II). The great talent at SD Ent. are more than capable of producing this website on their own, but as with many businesses, they were just too busy to do their own work.  BashBang was able to design and produce the site that SD Ent. envisioned while keeping within the clients budget.

MaxOnSnax.com

BashBang worked with Lori Osiecki (LoriO to us) to create the Max On Snax Flash website. A few games, some download assets and of course clips from the show. And what would a healthy eating site be without a recipe!?

PatchesKids.org

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Kathylee Forrester required a new website for her dear friend Patches the Bear.  Patches is not only a very cute and cuddly stuffed bear he’s also a tool that parents and child workers can use to help communicate with children.  Patches comes with eight emotion face symbols that children can choose to display on their bear used to communicate their own feelings.

We used Word Press as a base for developing the site and skinned it to meet Kathylee’s requirements.

ChaoticGame.com 2.0

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Our good friends at TC Digital were in the process of redeveloping their chaoticgame.com website, which is also an online trading card game engine.  BashBang was asked to help them by developing several Flash elements including the primary navigation that included holographic effects and a feature window on the index page.  The system needed to be able to support color changing for user selected styles as well as allow for multi-languages (English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, and Spanish).

MonsterMediaWebsite.com

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Monster Media, a small video production company in Victoria, BC approached BashBang requesting a low cost Flash-based website that they could be easily updated.  We produced their site in a few days and designed it so the client could make updates via easy edits to xml files.  The client was very happy with the results.

Zula World Games

Monday, November 24th, 2008

BashBang ported several of the Flash AS2 games that were designed for the original zula.com website over to AS3 to work in the ZulaWorld.com website. Due to the nature of ZulaWorld this was a major undertaking which required some creative technical tricks.

When logging on to our internal network here at the office it can be quite handy to have our local machines remember our network passwords so we don’t have to enter them in day by day. Generally our clients don’t get access to their sites via SFTP since we do the site updates and we’re just not set up to let clients start FTPing on our servers.
