Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Is a form of medicine that is greatly influenced by the rhythm and cycles of nature.  TCM views disease as an imbalance in the body’s energy, also known as qi (pronounced chee), which manifests as either a deficiency or excess within the energy pathways or organs themselves. TCM has developed over thousands of years to address these imbalances and provides a safe and natural means to regain harmony within the body, mind and spirit. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage therapy, cupping, moxa, gua sha and diet therapy are all treatment modalities within the realm of TCM.

What to Expect

For first timers: The initial consultation is 90min in length. The appointment will begin with a discussion of a complete health intake form.  Acupuncture will then be given, either alone or together with moxibustion, cupping and/or tui na massage, depending on what is best suited to your needs.  You will then be left alone for 20-30 minutes so that you may fully relax, after which time the needles will be removed.
