Non-ferrous scraps are those that contain little or no iron. When products made from these metals such as aluminum beverage cans, copper wiring or automobile batteries, complete their useful life, they become scrap metal and can be recycled to manufacture new consumer products. Recycled non-ferrous scrap are an important raw material in maturing a major percentage of our metal consumption needs while conserving natural resources such as virgin ores. It has been found that far less energy is required to manufacture products from recycled scrap than from virgin metals.
