The duties of the AIS Treasurer are the following:

  • Pay the mailbox rental fee in the Fall.
  • Pay the fees for renting meeting rooms at the McNabb community center for the September to June period.
  • Pay the fees for renting meeting rooms at the McNabb community center for July and August
  • Prepare the monthly treasurer's report for the months September to June.
  • Prepare the annual expense report.
  • Prepare the budget for the next year.
  • Book rooms at the McNabb community center for the weekly Sunday McNabb public information meeting, the monthly AIS meeting, the monthly joint District meeting, and other special meetings as required
  • Collect mail from the mailbox and deliver it to the Chairperson.
  • Be the contact person for the AIS bank account at Scotia Bank (Somerset and Bronson branch).

Al-Anon Information Service Literature Coordinator

Supply pamphlets for Al-Anon conferences, special AIS projects and people who call the hotline to request literature. Prepare an annual report on the types of literature requests received during the year. Supply pamphlets for the literature table at the weekly Sunday McNabb meetings. Maintain a small petty cash fund for purchasing stamps used to mail literature. Maintain a good supply of the Conference Approved Literature.

Receiving and forwarding requests for public information to the Al-Anon Information Service chairperson. Receiving and forwarding literature requests to the literature coordinator. Train all new telephone answering service volunteers by.


Telephone Answering Service Volunteer

The Telephone Answering Service is often the first point of contact for people who are becoming aware that they have been affected by another person's drinking and who are reaching out for help. A caller may simply want to know the date, time, and location of the Al-non meeting closest to him or her or may request that some literature be sent in the mail.


Group Representative (GR

Serving as the Group Representative is an opportunity for an Al-Anon member to understand better the needs of an Al-Anon group and the world-wide fellowship of Al-Anon as a whole. Ensures that the other service positions within the group (meeting secretary, phone list custodian, alternative GR, and literature coordinator) are filled.
