The duties of the AIS Literature Coordinator are the following:

  • Maintain a good supply of the Conference Approved Literature (CAL).
  • Supply pamphlets for the literature table at the weekly Sunday McNabb meetings.
  • Supply pamphlets for Al-Anon conferences, special AIS projects and people who call the hotline to request literature.
  • Maintain a log of literature received and distributed.
  • Maintain a small petty cash fund for purchasing stamps used to mail literature.
  • Prepare an annual report on the types of literature requests received during the year.

Telephone Answering Service Coordinator

Telephone Answering Service Volunteer

The Telephone Answering Service is often the first point of contact for people who are becoming aware that they have been affected by another person's drinking and who are reaching out for help. A caller may simply want to know the date, time, and location of the Al-non meeting closest to him or her or may request that some literature be sent in the mail.


Al-Anon Information Service Treasurer

Book rooms at the McNabb community center for the weekly Sunday McNabb public information meeting, the monthly AIS meeting, the monthly joint District meeting, and other special meetings as required. Pay the fees for renting meeting rooms at the McNabb community center for the September to June period. Be the contact person for the AIS bank account at Scotia Bank. Pay the mailbox rental fee in the Fall. Prepare the annual expense report.


Group Representative (GR

Serving as the Group Representative is an opportunity for an Al-Anon member to understand better the needs of an Al-Anon group and the world-wide fellowship of Al-Anon as a whole. Ensures that the other service positions within the group (meeting secretary, phone list custodian, alternative GR, and literature coordinator) are filled.
