Planimetric Mapping

Planimetric mapping digitally captures cultural and natural features in their true coordinate positions, depicting them to scale on our maps. These features include: road edges and centerlines, driveways, curbs and gutters, culverts, water and storm drainage features, utility access covers, utility poles, guard rails, signs, fences, trails and vegetation. Features can be extracted in either two-dimensional or three-dimensional formats.

Update Mapping

For GIS planimetry update projects we capture changes by superimposing the existing planimetry directly over newly obtained and processed aerial photography. This cost effective method accurately identifies areas that have changed. Updating can be done directly in ArcGIS, providing continuity of the platform. AeroMetric’s rigorous quality assurance ensures that all geodatabase constraints such as topology, geometry, and attribution are enforced for all feature classes.

Digital Orthophotos, Orthophotography, Orthophoto Services & DOQQs

The first step is to determine the exact camera orientation at the moment of exposure during the flight mission—the x, y, z of the camera lens center, plus the effect of aircraft pitch, roll and yaw upon the camera. Yet it retains the advantages of a photograph—visually displaying actual cultural and land features, and the built environment, rather than representing those features using symbols and lines.

Aerial Photography & Aerial Maps

Our skilled technicians can acquire high quality imagery and create an assortment of products, including, but not limited to digital aerial image files, rectified orthophotography, display quality enlargements, and photo mosaics. Thorough planning ensures that critical details such as optimum altitude, sun-angle, film type, camera settings, camera exposure stations and environmental conditions are all fine-tuned for each flight.

Enterprise GIS Consulting & GIS Services

Combining our experience with current and emerging technologies, such as the public and private cloud, and Solutions-as-a-Service offerings, we contribute to transforming the way our clients build, deploy and operate geospatially enabled IT solutions and infrastructure to support their operations.

Digital Elevation Model (DEM), Digital Terrain Model (DTM), DEM Maps

This method has evolved from manual interactive collection of breaklines and mass points to a fully automated method, using image matching techniques. A Digital Elevation Model is a collection of discrete elevation points at regularly spaced intervals. The model reflects abrupt changes in relief such as incised streams, ridge lines, and slope breaks.
