Massage therapy helps to alleviate soft tissue discomfort due to occupational, over-use and many chronic pain syndromes. It is also effective in trauma, and injury related pain. Through the holistic view of massage the entire body is treated not just the part that is causing discomfort therefore increasing the body’s well being and improves mind\body awareness.

Acupuncture is a treatment technique that employs the use of fine needles at specific sites on the body for the purposes of diagnosing and treating pain and disease. It is based on ancient knowledge that was collected over many centuries by the Chinese over 2000 years ago.

It causes the body to release endorphins, naturally produced morphine within our bodies. It can be used to treat addictions, pain relief, and regulating body systems that are out of balance.

Very fine needles of varying lengths are inserted into specific areas of the body that are known to affect specific problem conditions and regions. The needles are left in approximately twenty minutes while the individual is sitting or lying down. Needles are not necessarily placed in the specific site of pain. The tip is designed to pierce the skin with ease and the needles are finer than hypodermic needles, causing less trauma to the skin. Generally the process is repeated five to six times in order to see if a given effect has been achieved.

CranioSacral therapy is an extremely gentle form of therapy that is used to balance the fluid distribution in the central nervous system. This fluid, known as cerebral spinal fluid is located within and around the brain and spinal chord. The bones and connective tissue of the skull and spine can become tacked down, thus restricting circulation of the fluid to the necessary regions. This therapy allows a very gentle mobilization of the bones and connective tissue in order to restore proper fluid balance to the compromised locations.

Reflexology is a non-invasive method of stimulating reflexes in the hands, feet and ears, through the medium of touch, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body.

A sensitive area of the foot indicates a problem in the corresponding organ of the body. Working on the appropriate trouble-spot can help alleviate the problem in the associated organ or organ systems.

Physical trauma, infection or structural imbalances such as dental malocclusion, leg-length discrepancy and pelvic rotations or misalignments can cause a change in pull of the connective tissue of the body, thereby creating an imbalance in the pull of the tissues, muscles and bones.

Reiki is a Japanese word for “Universal Life Energy”.   It is a quiet, gentle but powerful method of natural healing that is very ancient. The origin of Reiki can be traced back to ancient Tibet, thousands of years ago. The technique was rediscovered in the mid 1800’s by Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan.

This type of healing uses the laying of hands either on or just off the surface of the body. The hands of the therapist can detect vibrational changes (electromagnetic changes)in different areas of the body. The therapist works to balance the energy centres in the body, called Chakras.

It is a very calm, relaxing and peaceful therapy, which can be used to treat physical pain, emotional and/or spiritual pain by helping the individual release toxins, and negative emotions that are residing within the body.
