The aims and objectives: This tournament is held with a purpose to promote and popularize youth ice hockey with a puck, as well as propagandize healthy lifestyle, strengthen relationships and contacts with international teams, and share professional experience with foreign coaches.
The objectives of carrying out this tournament are to define an absolute winner of the Hockey School Riga Cup, acquire experience in participating in the international tournaments and also improve sports mastership of young hockey players.
The organization: the overall organization of the tournament will be executed by the Hockey School Riga.
Participants: Teams of Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Belarus, Estonia are welcomed to participate in the competition in the U-12, U-14 age groups.
Teams: Teams have to consist of 18 players, 2 coaches, 2 representatives.
Location of the event and terms: Tournament Hockey School Riga CUP will be held on an ice platform of Hockey School Riga located in Vietlavas street 15a, on 14th-15th of May 2010, Riga, according to the game calendar. In general, there will be approximately two-three games per day.
The organizers during this tournament are obliged to provide with:
-readiness of a sport construction for carrying out competition,
-preparation of an ice platform before each game,
-catering (mineral water, dinner in the school canteen the fee of which will be collected separately),
-schedule of the tournament,
-conducting open ceremony and close of the competition.
Carrying out system: Competitions are performed on a circular basis: teams are playing two periods of pure time 20 minutes with a 5 minutes break. Two points are assigned for a victory in a game, in case of a draw - one point; zero points will go to defeaters.
If teams have identical quantity of points, the following things will be taken into account:
1. Points received in a game among themselves,
2. The difference of the scored and missed pucks in games among themselves,
3. General difference between scored and missed pucks,
4. The greatest number of scored pucks in the tournament.
Teams, who have occupied 1st and 2nd places in the prior stage, will play among themselves to win the main prize of the competition. Correspondingly, 3rd and 4th places will play for bronze medals.
Rewarding system: Winners of the tournament are awarded with cups and medals. The title best player of the tournament will be assigned to: attacker, defender and the goalkeeper.
In each game the best player will be defined.
Reception conditions: Expenses connected with participation, food and accommodation in 3* or 4* star hotel, depending on the guest preferences, lies individually on each hockey team.
Participation fee: 300 EUR
