QuickFRAC System – Multi-Stage Horizontal Batch Fracturing

By: Packers Plus Energy Svc  09-12-2011

QuickFRAC is a new game-changing technology for the energy industry .

Packers Plus Energy Services Inc. is releasing a new technology capable of fracturing 60 stages downhole while only pumping 15 treatments at surface. This new system, called QuickFRAC®, is the first of its kind in the industry.

"QuickFRAC is a great technology that has met the need for increased number of stages in formations such as the Bakken, the Horn River, and the Montney as well as many others," said Dan Themig, President of Packers Plus.

"QuickFRAC allows the operator to do the job of pumping 15 stages on surface while Packers Plus does the job downhole, providing as many as 60 individual stages. This is done by taking a single pumping treatment on surface and precisely directing it into 2-5 stages downhole. For the operator, pumping time and costs are reduced significantly and production results are greatly increased," Themig added.

The QuickFRAC system is a technology that enables operators to increase the number of fractures in a single treatment operation. This system has been successfully trialed in the field, and is now commercially available. Using limited entry diversion techniques and our proprietary technology, the QuickFRAC system allows you to fracture several isolated stages at one time through a process known as batch fracturing. For each treatment zone, the QuickFRAC system includes a number of QuickPORT™ sleeves flanked by RockSEAL® II packers. This configuration creates multiple, individually isolated stages within a single treatment zone. Each treatment zone is activated by an actuation ball, which is available in multiple sizes, enabling several batch fracturing zones to be stimulated in succession with the biggest ball size at the top.

Through a detailed process of research and development and by using consistent pumping rates, this new system will evenly distribute the batch fractures in a select zone of the wellbore, thus greatly reducing water usage.

  • Flexible design enables optimization of fracture treatment
  • Fluid or proppant fracturing compatible
  • System designed to prevent abrasion from sand fracturing
  • One ball size activates multiple QuickPORT sleeves allowing for more stages

  • Batch fracturing of multiple stages
  • Faster completion times
  • Reduced fracturing fluids
  • Reduced costs
  • Less environmental impact
  • Enhanced near-wellbore conductivity due to reduced fracture fluid usage
  • Improved fracture network creation due to increased rock stress from
    simultaneous fracture initiation

Titanium XV - High Pressure / High Temperature Multi Stage Fracturing

The StackFRAC® Titanium™ XV HPHT Multi-Stage Fracturing System is designed to provide open hole fracturing for differential pressures of 15,000 psi and extreme bottom hole temperatures. This high pressure, high temperature system accommodates a number of fracturing conditions and requirements, and contains premium seal technology throughout.

StackFRAC HD – Multi-Stage Fracturing Systems

The StackFRAC HD system allows for as many fracture stages as you need in a single system and provides complete control of well stimulation with regards to depth and placement, maximizing production and minimizing costs. The patented StackFRAC® HD™ Multi-Stage Fracturing System is designed to provide more stimulation stages for increased access to the reservoir throughout the entire horizontal wellbore.

RapidMATRIX System - Open Hole Stimulation of Carbonate Reservoirs

Field-proven system greatly increases the effectiveness of acidizing and fracturing operations by producing a distributed placement of stimulation fluids throughout the horizontal leg. The system produces mechanical isolation to guarantee precision placement of stimulation fluids to produce optimal stimulation design and maximum production results.

RepeaterPORT from Packers Plus

Each sleeve is run between two RockSEAL® II packers to allow specific zones of the wellbore to be isolated and selectively fractured. The RepeaterPORT sleeve effectively multiplies the number of available stages that can be fractured. There are a variety of ball seat sizes, allowing numerous stages to be run in sequence. It is run in conjunction with a FracPORT™ with the same ball seat size.
