Lotsa'Tots Child Care and kindergarten
Early Childhood Learning Facility
At Lotsa'Tots we believe:
Nine tenths of education is encouragement.
The important thing is not so much
that every child should be taught,
as that every child should be given the wish to learn.
A master can tell you what he expects of you.
A teacher, though, awakens your own expectations.
What does it mean to be a "licensed care facility"?
It means we follow the minimum standards for a Day Care facility as laid out in the Province of Alberta Child Care Licensing Act and Child Care Licensing Regulation.
What this means is that we follow the rules as laid out by the province of Alberta concerning standards of cleanliness, child / adult ratios, discipline, etc..
It means that there is someone watching the people who are watching your children.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean to be an "accredited care facility"?
This means we have demonstrated a commitment to providing high quality care and education for alberta's children, and we have done the work to back up our commitment.
What is "playful learning"?
Our playful learning philosophy is based on the best research available for providing children with the best possible learning environment and stimulation.
First, we present many different opportunities for the children to manipulate different tools within their environments to problem solve and figure things out.
Second, we present "academic" information through songs, rhymes and games, stimulating interest and easing learning.
One of our mottos is, if you teach it, they will learn.
We don't need to pressure the children to learn ABC's or numbers, and this strategy is counter productive. If we present information in a fun way, children will learn all by themselves.
