Clean, comfortable, private, and friendly living accommodation is available on a first-come, first-served basis as part of our school at $400 per month.  Living at the school allows you to obtain additional assistance and training on an informal basis.

Accommodation includes:

  1. a private furnished bedroom
  2. shared cable TV
  3. access to a shared computer or printer and wireless internet access
  4. laundry facilities
  5. telephone use
  6. shared use of several kitchens, bathrooms and living areas

Although TLC Edmonton is primarily a training school, we often assist our students in finding a Canadian employer. As our students progress through our study program, they become knowledgeable in all aspects of caregiving and also gain direct experience of living in Canada. This gives them the confidence and skills necessary to find a good employer and negotiate a good salary.

Our students usually find an employer during the training program and often start to establish a friendly relationship with their prospective employer several months before they finish the course and qualify for a work permit. This process helps ensure that there is a good employer/employee match and greatly increases the chances of successfully completing the immigration program since quitting a job invalidates the work permit and may result in a period of unpaid unemployment during which the caregiver cannot risk leaving the country.

TLC Edmonton assists and supports their students in all aspects of living, working, and immigrating to Canada. This includes help with the various application forms, work contracts, finding employment, and preparation for an immigration interview.

We guide our students through the whole process and support them throughout their work contracts.  In fact, we consider our students as friends and long after they have completed their courses they often come back for advice, to visit, share their experiences, and to network with other caregivers.
