SEQUENCING

Since bigger jobs are usually detailed, fabricated and erected in sequences, it is imperative that the exact match lines of the sequences are established. This requires the input from most of the partners in the building process. The detailing of these boundaries on a plan or sketch can be realized in a short time frame.

ADVANCE BILL OF MATERIAL (ABM)

We supply our customers with a material report on short notice, to allow our customers to order material from the mill. It sometimes takes months before the material can be rolled again at the mill, so it is a priority to create and supply an ABM, in order for our customers to maintain the schedule.

EMBEDDED PLANS

For an accurate position of plates embedded in concrete, we detail plans to show these plates in their exact position. Embedded plates can be used for connecting beams to concrete structures.

CNC, DXF, DSTV, KISS AND FABTROL INTEGRATION

We have the capacity to create electronic files. For example: CNC, DXF, DSTV, and KISS files. These files can be used for nesting the plates on a standard sheet, cutting the plates on a plasma cutter, drilling holes in the members on the drill line, etc. We can also provide the appropriate files for you to integrate into your Fabtrol system.

APPROVAL ISSUE (IFA)

All of the created shop drawings will be sent to the engineer of record for approval. All the information that is required to make a particular steel member, will be shown on these drawings. The shop drawings will be checked prior to sending them for approval. The shop drawings and the erection diagrams together will make up the approval issue.

FABRICATION ISSUE (IFS)

After receiving the approved drawings back from the engineer of record, we update the drawings if that's required and prepare the drawings for shop issue. Part sheets will now be created and together with the shop drawings and the erection drawings they will be sent to the fabricator. Our data control department can turn around shop issues in a timely and efficient manner.

PROJECT COORDINATION

One Project Coordinator is dedicated to your project. All correspondence will filter through that one person. This reduces the chance of error or duplication of RFI etc. This person controls the project at our end. These highly qualified professionals are willing to assist fabricators on site. One Project Coordinator = a more efficient project. Our experienced Project Coordinators will ensure that your needs are met.

ERECTION DIAGRAMS

All the separate steel members that have been numbered according to the shop drawings will show up on these plans. This together with important erection details will enable the erector to finish the building process in a timely manner. We proud ourselves in zero site calls.

CONNECTION DESIGN

Not all connections on a building can be taken out of the handbook of steel construction. In these instances we can get these connections designed. Our engineers will closely work together with the engineer of record, to ensure that these connections meet the job requirements. As well as this all our senior have taken design courses and therefore have enough experience to propose connection design to speed the process from IFC to IFS.

ANCHOR SETTING PLANS

For an accurate position of the columns and posts, we’ll detail the plans to show the anchor bolt type, length and diameter in it's exact position.

COORDINATION WITH OTHER TRADES

Since a steel structure is supporting many other kinds of building components, it is important to coordinate with other trades to make the building process go smooth.

We can coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers of concrete foundations, joists, precast concrete, cladding, doors, etc.
