Lafarge Insulcore insulated precast concrete panels provide a functional and aesthetic exterior wall system. Insulated precast sandwich wall panels consist of two reinforced precast concrete wythes with a continuous layer of rigid insulation in between. Panels can be manufactured as a composite design where the inner and outer wythes work integrally to accommodate service loads, or as a non-composite design whereby the outer wythe is supported off the inner structural wythe. Precast sandwich wall panels are available in a range of widths, lengths, thicknesses and exterior finishes. Standard modular panels provide speed and economy. Custom panels can be produced for a variety of special applications. Sandwich wall panels offer many benefits because of their unique construction.

Prestressing strands in the panels are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the beams and provide all of the positive reinforcement required for the span of the deck between beams. The spliced girder method of construction has extended the practical use of precast beams to span lengths of 75 m or more by joining and post-tensioning girder segments at the site.
