Our Drumline program offers a great opportunity for students to
learn rudimental drumming techniques, and expand their musical ability.
Members can expect the following at each rehearsal:
Each rehearsal will begin with
a warm-up, which incorporates a foundation of skill building exercises. We then
advance into learning new and exciting rudiments to continue building technique
and fundamentals. After spending time working on new material, the students
will receive new related exercises to practice.
Then, during the second portion of the rehearsal, time is spent on sight
reading sheet music and theory.
Whenever new sheet music is handed out, it is sent home at the end of the
rehearsal so that players can have some time to look over it and practice in
In the drumline there is always
time to ask questions, and to break things down if a student is having a
difficult time with the music. Not only are we building a Drumline, but we are
also building the “heartbeat” of the Drum Corps, our team.
