The Publication by the Office of the Public Guardian, UNDERSTANDING PERSONAL DIRECTIVES, states that the law in Alberta, does not allow family members to make decisions on their behalf.

Theft Issues | Elder Advocates Of Alberta Society

Police arrested a 47-year-old man Friday morning in connection with the theft of rings from the fingers of an elderly woman in Vancouver General hospital. Sanjeeta Gill, a 21 year old woman who stole cheques and credit cards from the elderly in three Edmonton, Alberta area nursing homes was sentenced. Konstanty and Josephine Stankiewicz are upright, honorable persons who have done their best to be good Alberta citizens.
