Mineral wools, including rock and slag wools, are inorganic strands of mineral fibre bonded together using organic binders. Mineral wool pipe insulation provides excellent thermal insulation performance for mechanical/power and process piping systems operating from sub-ambient to 1200°F (650°C). Introducing MPT® Pre-Formed Pipe Insulation 

MPT-FPF Field Pre-Formed Mineral Wool Pipe Insulation, distributed by Crossroads C&I, is made of inorganic fibers derived from basalt, a volcanic rock, with thermosetting resin binder. Advanced manufacturing technology ensures consistent product quality, with high fiber density and low shot content, for excellent performance in thermal control and fire resistance applications. MPT-FPF is a factory "V" grooved mineral wool board with a unique pressure sensitive contact adhesive in the grooves. It ships flat in 4 mil plastic and allows easy forming at the job site. MPT-FPF is manufactured to specific pipe sizes with a variety of facing options.

Fiber glass pipe and equipment insulation distributed by Crossroads C&I is suitable for installation over hot, cold, concealed and exposed piping systems with operating temperatures up to 850°F (454°C). Consistent product performance means dependable insulation values, superior strength and easy installation. Available in a range of sizes this product can be used for thermal and acoustic applications.

 

Crossroads C&I distributes Micro-Lok® HP Fiber Glass Pipe Insulation which is a high performance insulation made from rotary glass fibers bonded with a thermosetting resin and produced in 36" (0.92 m) lengths. Micro-Lok HP is used to insulate standard iron pipe and copper tubing. The 3-foot (0.92 m) sections are available plain or with a factory applied vapor-barrier jacket. The all-service (ASJ) vapor retarder jacket includes a longitudinal, self-sealing closure lap. The jacket system is adhered to each fiber glass section using a specially formulated adhesive to ensure jacket securement. A latex paint may be applied to the Micro-Lok HP jacket after installation.

The factory-installed tape system permits installation at ambient temperatures down to 20°F (-7°C), and will not soften or separate when exposed to high ambient temperatures and humidity.

 

 Micro-Flex® Large Diameter Pipe and Tank Wrap, distributed by Crossroads C&I, is a 2.5 pcf (40.1 kg/m3) density product made from high temperature, semi-rigid fiber glass blanket bonded to a flexible facing. Shipped in roll form, the unique fiber orientation gives Micro-Flex increased compressive strength, and permits close installation on round surfaces without reducing the thickness of insulation resulting in a loss of insulating efficiency. Both AP and FSK facings are intended for indoor use, and AP facing may be painted with a latex paint after installation. The ease of fit is particularly helpful on retro-fit installations where existing insulation may result in non-standard outside diameters.

When exceptional strength and durability are required along with low thermal conductivity, calcium silicate products provide a solution. An installation product which is a pre-formed, high temperature, abuse-resistant pipe and block insulation with exceptional structural strength, composed of hydrous calcium silicate for use on systems operating up to 1200°F (650°C). Available in a large selection of sizes and forms, calcium silicate distributed by Crossroads C&I, can fit many industrial applications.

Crossroads C&I distributes Thermo-12 Gold which is a pre-formed, high temperature, abuse-resistant pipe and block insulation with exceptional structural strength, composed of hydrous calcium silicate for use on systems operating up to 1200°F (650°C). It is inorganic, non-combustible, Asbestos Free and meets or exceeds the physical and thermal property requirements of ASTM C533, Type 1. Integral to Thermo-12 Gold is XOX, a distinctive formula and process that inhibits corrosion to outside surfaces of pipe and equipment.

Specifiers to the industrial processing and power generating industries recognize that stainless steel pipes and vessels are susceptible to stress corrosion cracking. One solution is an expanded perlite product with a built-in corrosion inhibitor as distributed by Crossroads C&I. Combined with resistance to water absorption, perlite effectively minimizes corrosion to outside surfaces of pipe and vessel and equipment while providing excellent thermal insulation.

Crossroads C&I distributes Sproule WR-1200® which is a pre-formed, high temperature, non-wicking pipe and block insulation composed of expanded perlite uniformly reinforced with a high strength fiber for use on systems operating up to 1200°F (649°C). It is inorganic, non-combustible and meets or exceeds the physical property requirements of ASTM C610. Sproule WR-1200 is produced with a blue visual color coding dispersed throughout the product to assure it can be identified as asbestos free. Integral to Sproule WR-1200 is XOX, a distinctive formula and process that inhibits corrosion to outside surfaces of pipe and equipment, especially stress corrosion cracking of austenitic stainless steel.

Crossroads C&I distributes aerogels that are flexible, durable industrial insulation products which meet the most demanding requirements and span the entire service temperature range from -460°F (-270°C) to 1200°F (650°C). Aerogels can be used for a wide range of industrial applications including refineries, petrochemical, and gas processing. Aerogels are one the most effective high-temperature insulation materials in the industrial market, typically 2-5 times thinner than competing products. Aerogels are efficient, durable, and productive to install. Its water resistance offers a level of protection against corrosion under insulation.

Crossroads C&I fabricates and distributes TRYMER® 2000 XP Polyisocyanurate Insulation

TRYMER® 2000 XP polyisocyanurate pipe insulation is a polyurethane modified polyisocyanurate cellular plastic supplied in the form of bunstock. It can be fabricated into sheets, pipe shells and other shapes for a variety of thermal insulation applications.

TRYMER 2000 XP insulation is suitable for applications that require a Flame Spread Index of 25 or less and a Smoke Developed Index of 450 or less when tested as per ASTM E84. These are typical requirements for pipe insulation located in non-plenum locations so Trymer 2000 XP Insulation is particularly ideal for use as pipe insulation in the non-plenum areas of commercial buildings.

Isofrax® thermal insulation utilizes a unique, patented silica-magnesia chemistry which produces products capable of withstanding continuous operating temperatures up to 1260°C (2300°F). Isofrax products are designed to have enhanced in-vitro solubility characteristics which enable Isofrax products to meet European regulatory requirements for synthetic vitreous fibers
