TAIT Canada specializes in acidizing chemical technology for the oilfield. Custom designed TAIT acid
systems (TAS blends) are formulated for hydrochloric acid up to 28% strength. The systems are compatible with organic acids and hydrofluoric acid.
These efficient hydrochloric acid blends can be combined
with various solvents such as xylene yielding a line of TAIT
solvent-external emulsified acids (TSA systems) with a broad spectrum
of properties. The retardation, diversion/leak-off control and paraffin/asphaltene solvency of these TSA systems are easily varied to meet any stimulation
need including acid fracturing (both conventional and multi-stage). No additional emulsifiers, stabilizers, gellants, breakers or surfactants are required.
The core of TAIT Canada’s acidizing chemistry is a single
proprietary multifunctional liquid additive, which incorporates
universal demulsifiers, universal anti-sludging agents, and
an acid soluble corrosion inhibitor effective at very high temperatures.
In addition, it carries a strong surface and interfacial tension reducer, exhibits strong water-wetting capability and effective fines suspension properties.
The iron control component of the system functions to effectively control iron contamination at any level in both live and spent
acid and works in concert with the multifunctional additive resulting
in greatly enhanced corrosion protection.
TAIT Canada’s systems can accommodate any hydrocarbon ranging from gas and condensate to heavy crude oil, in both sweet and sour environments. When emulsified with xylene to form TAIT Solvent Acid (TSA), this self-diverting acid is particularly good at stimulating injection wells, disposal wells and damaged producing wells.
