The Dewalt 0-4000 rpm, plug-in electric motor with a built in clutch system is designed to protect the guarded right angle grinding disc. The right angle can be positioned in the up or down position in order to do dental procedures on the upper or lower arcades. The right angle accomodates carbide chip , solid carbide, or diamond grinding discs as well as elongated carbide bits for the treatment of diastemata and periodontal pockets.
The PowerFloat completely replaces the need to have any other floating instruments. It is specially engineered with a guarded design to enable veterinarians to do precise and gentle dentistry in all areas of the horse's mouth. The heavy duty, but compact right angle gear system can be rotated to the up or down position for use on upper or lower dental arcades. With the PowerFloat, veterinarians can remove all dominant malocclusions from sharp points, front or rear hooks and ramps, tall teeth, and wave mouth safely and in a fraction of the time it would take with hand tools.
The PowerFloat transforms a physically demanding task into one requiring little physical effort. It allows the veterinarian to concentrate on doing high-quality dentistry instead of just "floating" teeth. In just a matter of 6 to 12 minutes, the average horse's dental needs are fully completed in a precise and gentle manner.
By using sedation, a dental speculum, and a dental halter with a PowerLite light source, a veterinarian is able to effectively visualize intra-oral considtions for clients and explain what corrective procedures are necessary. It soon becomes obvious to owners that this kind of motorized dentistry is a very gentle procedure compared with hand floating.
PowerFloat dental procedures can be completed without causing trauma to the oral mucosa. The head of the tool is designed to allow entry to all necessary areas of the mouth. Even the rear molar hooks and ramps can be successfully reduced in just seconds. The guarded abrasive surface is engineered to eliminate the need for the operator to hold the tongue or cheek out of way while teeth are being floated.
All forms of malocclusion are easily handled. The only instrument that veterinarians need other than the PowerFloat are extraction forceps, picks and probes, and wolf-tooth extraction equipment. All other procedures can be handled by the PowerFloat.
