Through our semi-monthly
, a resource library and upon request we inform newcomers about employment programs and other training opportunities, as well as other services offered by a variety of Calgary organizations.
. Organizational support for emerging ethno-cultural groups
for cultural groups and interested organizations on topics such as building organizational capacity and leadership skills, grant proposal writing and more. We also give support and advice to our member organizations.
We provide opportunities to newcomers to become familiar with the Canadian workplace environment, gain practical skills and experience, and increase their network of contacts in Canada. Canadians are also welcome to volunteer.
We offer conversation-focused classes in several languages. All the tutors are native speakers, so they also educate the students about the cultures of the countries where these languages are spoken. The classes are held on week-day evenings at the CMC office.
In partnership with other organizations and agencies, we organize events celebrating cultural diversity, such as Multicuttural Days, FoodFest, or citizenship ceremony.
The Centre has a small library that carries many books and magazines on multiculturalism.
