Cheyenne Tree Farms carries a large variety of trees and plants.
Whether you are looking for a smaller tree to add to your backyard or you need a larger tree to qualify for your developer on you new property, we have what you need! We carry both potted and caliper* trees ranging in sizes from a #5 container to a 80mm (3.5") caliper. But don't forget about the evergreens, we carry a variety of spruce, fir, and pine from 90cm (3') to 350cm (12') sizes.
At our production site in Beaumont we have 80,000 trees growing and anticipating their new homes somewhere in western Canada. Below is a field picture of Northern Treasure Ash.
We dig* most of our trees in the spring after the ground has thawed but before the leaves come out. Some trees allow us to have a second digging season in the fall, such as spruce and chokecherry trees. To be dug, a 48" tree spade is used to lift the root ball and then place it in a burlap sack given structure by a wire basket. This wire basket root ball is then wrapped in shrink wrap and placed back in a hole to retain moisture and provide insulation until the tree is sold.
Once the tree has been sold, the tree is moved with a bobcat and loaded onto some mode of transport - sometimes a half ton truck, other times a large flat deck semi trailer.
Once planted, caliper trees take a few seasons to get comfortable in their new home and then begin to grow at their regular rate.
If your looking to plant one of these trees in your yard please feel free to contact either of our locations to assist you in choosing the perfect tree and to answer any questions you may have.
