What is Aspen Alkylate Petrol?

What we refer to in everyday language as environmental petrol is alkylate petrol. The name comes from the word alkylation, which is the name of the process used to extract the raw product.

The alkylation process takes place at oil refineries through surplus gases from the crude oil distillation and cracking plant being mixed. The result is a liquid. This liquid (alkylate) is the purest extractable petroleum product. Aspen has a shelf life of 3 years in plastic containers and up to 10 years in steel containers.

There are two main variations of Aspen Alkylate Petrol:

Aspen 2t is a ready-mixed gasoline with 2 % fully synthetic two-stroke oil. Aspen 2t is used for all two-stroke engines except outboards (when the engine is water cooled) , which need the addition of a special outboard oil. If the engine is air-cooled Aspen 2t can be used.

Aspen 4t is not mixed and is used in four-stroke engines and two-stroke engines with separate lubrication.
