Catriona Lemay Doan

Catriona LeMay Doan is the fastest woman on ice. As a member of the highly successful Canadian Speed Skating Team at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games, Catriona blazed to Gold in the 500metre event in an Olympic record time of 38.21 seconds, then added an Olympic Bronze Medal in the 1000metre event. She finished the 1998 season first overall in the World Cup standings in both the 500m and 1000m events. These accomplishments earned her the Canadian Female Athlete of the Year award which she was recently honoured with again in 2001.
