About Canadians For Language Fairness
Canadians for language fairness is a group of people who have decided that the English-speaking majority of Canada should not be brow-beaten into accepting the policy of Official Bilingualism which essentially discriminates against most Canadians.
We are only interested in ensuring that unilingual English speakers (the majority) are not kept out of the employment picture, both in the public and the private sector as is now the case. Bilingualism (fluency in English & French) favours the French speakers as French is not widespread (being confined to Quebec and parts of New Brunswick) and it should not be used as a criteria for employment, thus sidelining the more important element of MERIT.
The fact that English-speakers have been forced out of Quebec by draconian language laws like Bill 22, 178 & 101 while outside Quebec, French is given disproportionate emphasis, is unconscionable. This discrimination has to be addressed and the OLA should be repealed NOW!!
